The Wedding Industry, is one of the most profitable industries to be in.
Wedding Photographers, Wedding Planners, Wedding Officiants and Wedding Florists can make a ton of money in weddings, let me elaborate …
According to Forbes.com the average cost of a wedding is $33k and Google tells us that there are an average of 2.4 million weddings per year (in the US). 2.4 MILLION!!! 🤯
This tells me that there is A LOT of money being spent in the Wedding Industry. And here’s what else. People put aside a bunch of money specifically to spend on their wedding. A LOT of money 💸 (usually more than $33,000, at least from my experience in weddings the avg. cost is closer to $60k, but I’m in Hawaii).
So, let’s go back to that original question – Is the Wedding Industry profitable?? 🤷🏻♀️
Absolutely – it is.
Let’s break down how much avg. vendors cost. I’m just going to use Hawaii as an example because that is where I live and I know these numbers are accurate – each state would be different but not hugely. Here are average costs per wedding that the typical wedding vendors charge (in Hawaii) …
Wedding Planners: $2,500 – $15,000+
Photographers: $1,800 – $10,000+
Videographers: $1,000 – $8,000+
Hair & Makeup: $350/bride, $300 attendants
Florists: $350+ bouquet, $1200 floral altar, $300 petal aisle, $200 table centerpiece +++
Transportation: $900 Limo Service for 20 guests to and from (1 round trip)
Officiant: $400 (30 minute ceremony)
Musician: $500/hour (ceremony ONLY)
Cake: $450++ (2 tier cake, with delivery)
Private Oceanfront Venue: $3500++ (2 hour rental)
Ceremony Welcome Sign: $600+ (1 personalized with delivery)
These are some of the costs I see Brides paying now, on average – for just a ceremony. Add in a full reception and you’re easily going to double the total average cost. Most of our brides spend about $25,000 on the ceremony alone (with no big frills or extras, simple and elegant, at a beautiful venue with about 25 guests).
So – YES – the Wedding Industry is definitely a good place to be if you are trying to start a business and want to be profitable. Why? Because your customers (Brides & Grooms) have money to spend on exactly what you are offering. They WANT to spend their money with you, they just need to be reassured that they are in good hands. That they are getting the most VALUE for what they are spending and that YOU can create the wedding of their dreams.
Can you do this? 🙋🏻♀️
Are you ready to start making money in weddings?
Let’s gooo!!
