Newsflash ✨ You aren’t going to book weddings until your *potential* bride knows, likes and trusts you – BEFORE – she reaches out.
Wait what?!!! Yes, you gotta prove to her that you’re a legit company, someone professional who knows their shit, who she can trust, who will go above and beyond for her, someone who she just needs to work with. Bonus points if she can vibe with you too (aka, she’s gotta know at least a little bit of who you are).
Here are 5 things you need to establish before a couple will confidently book you.
⑴ WEBSITE. This should be a no-brainer these days… but YES, you need a legit website up and running even if its one of those free ones from Wix. Get one, figure out how to build it, youtube some tutorials, and spend some time to make it look professional. You won’t get ranked on Google right away but at least you’re out there for new potential weddings to find. It doesn’t need to be
⑵ REVIEWS / TESTIMONIALS. If you don’t have reviews up, what are you waiting for? Couples need to see other peoples experience with you to know that they can trust you too. Don’t have any? Reach out to friends and family who you have helped, maybe do a few free events to get reviews, ask vendor friends who know you for reviews. Every review helps.
⑶ GOOGLE. You need to get your business registered on Google. So people can find you when they’re looking for your services. You should also get set up with Google Analytics, and set up an office on Google Maps (even if you’re working out of your home, you can just put in a generic area address), and have a Google business listing for reviews.
⑷ YELP. A lot of people still go to Yelp for recommendations. You want to get listed as a business on Yelp and add in photos. Make sure to link back to your website. Any and all legit incoming links to your website will help with SEO. Ask your same people to leave you a review as well, the more reviews, the higher your business ranks, and slowly start building up the reviews here, day by day.
⑸ The KNOT & WEDDING WIRE. I know these aren’t fully necessary BUT they totally help. Brides are on these two websites consistently looking for ideas and vendor recommendations. You want to be seen here and you want to make sure (again) to have at least a few reviews. It’s OK if they’re the same reviews from the other places, just get some in. There are paid versions of both The Knot and Wedding Wire and my honest opinion, is that at first (when you are first getting started in weddings) if you can afford it, pay for the The Knot. Get your website link in there it will help your SEO and will get you ranked on Google, so brides can find you organically. Once ranked you don’t have to keep the listing but it does help a lot when your just getting started #littletricks!
These are the FIVE things I’d make sure to do if I was having trouble finding new weddings and booking brides. I think you need to be seen over and over again by your couple before they start remembering you and these are the places they’ll be looking.
Also – If your a wedding photographer, wedding planner, wedding videographer, florist, venue owner, musician or officiant and aren’t requesting reviews from past weddings in all of these places, what are you waiting for?
Get on it and make this one small change and watch how business (more weddings) starts flowing in so much more naturally. 💸💸💸
#fullybooked
I already know you’re AMAZING at what you do, what we need to do is set your business up so that perfect weddings that are meant for you find you and book you without you needing to SELL them on it. And this right here, is how you start.
Leave me a comment if your all in on leveling up – I see you! 👀
