“You’re too ________”

👉🏽 Loud.
👉🏽 Much.
👉🏽 Sensitive.
👉🏽 Quiet.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told that I was “too sensitive”. It started with my mom and was reinforced by friends and then boyfriends. But mostly by myself in my own head.

I always believed that being “too sensitive” meant that I was not strong enough, too in my head, too shy, too insecure.

When I first started my business in weddings this belief continued to show up and made me question myself as a leader, as a business owner, and as a boss. It took years for me to realize that being “sensitive” wasn’t a bad thing. It was just me being in touch with my emotions and with others emotions. This trait actually served me in a ton of ways I hadn’t realized.

It was actually my Super Power. 💃🏽

It meant that I was hyper aware of the stress and overwhelm of emotions that often comes up during a wedding because I could feel it. I knew how to address and ease this stress intuitively. I could naturally put vendors, couples, parents at ease which in turn created an incredible wedding experience 99% of the time.

What people said was a bad thing was actually what helped create my success in my business (when I actually leaned into it).

And leaning into who I truly am allowed me to re-design my business in a way that fully supported me. When I did this one thing, my business (and income!) really started to take off.

Here are a few examples of changes I made in my business that allowed it to feel like more of an expansion of me.

• I used to do big elaborate weddings (ceremony + receptions) of sometimes 400+ guests, but now I only do smaller more intimate ceremony only weddings (LOVE it soooo much more!!!!)
  
• I used to do in-person and phone consults ALL THE TIME – because I thought I had to – now I communicate 99% through email only. Guess what, I can book just as many weddings (actually way more) and it’s way easier.
  
• I used to work with all the vendors and let my couples pick their vendors as I worked around them even if I knew they weren’t the best options – now I have a small team of wedding vendors I have hand selected who I work with consistently and LOVE. This makes it more fun (for me) and gives my couples a better end result (aka wedding) always.

Designing my wedding company around my strengths and the essence of who I was allowed me to ATTRACT MORE OF MY PEOPLE ♥️

Bookings happened naturally with little to no effort because I truly believed on the experience and service that I was offering.

In fact I booked 5 weddings last week without a single sales call or in person meeting 💸

Don’t wanna go to in-person meetings? Guess what, you don’t have to. Love working more intimate smaller weddings. Awesome, do that. Start molding your business to better serve you and see how it expands and explodes! 🚀
